34 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | December 2016 | From the President – Dave Cometa: Dear members of the 4 Seasons Golf Club, by the time you're reading this article 2016 will almost be gone. I don't know about you but these years seem to go by faster each year. By this time, we will have had our last Banquet of the year and we will also have two new Presidents, one for the United States and one for our Golf Club. Our last major tournament of the year has been played and we are proud to crown the winners of our "2016 Club Championships." The winners are: • A flight low gross and overall returning club champion, Gerry Edmonds • B flight low gross, Kevin Snider • C flight low gross, Russ Fleer • D flight low gross, Bob Prescott • A flight low net, Cliff Post • B flight low net and overall club champion, Ron Leatherman • C flight low net, Melody Lewis • D flight low net, Becki Kenney Congratulations to you all. You are great representatives of our club. Remember that a club is a group of people with a common interest and our club is no different, we have that common interest of golf and fellowship with our friends and neighbors so lets enjoy them both this coming year. From the Tournament Chair – Addis Scott: You may sign up at our prior Tuesday golf event, or contact the Tournament Committee by email at: hemet4sgc@gmail.com. Our October Game Schedule is: 12/06 - 8 am: Balanced Mixed Flight Teams Two Best Net Scores Per Hole 12/13 - 8 am: Individual – Best 9 Net Scores and/or Optional Low Gross 12/20 - 8 am: Partners (Same Flight) – Alternate Shot (both hit tee shot, take best, then alternate until holed out). 12/27 - 8 am: 2-Person Scramble Handicap = 50% of Partners' Average Hdc. From the Membership Chair – Elliot Yaeger: 4 Season Golf Club welcomes four new members to the club: Beth Flanagan, Irene Chapman, George Hice and George Kuvakas. Membership renewal period is on!! Renew now and while you are at it, ask a friend to join. If a new member joins now they will receive membership to our Club and SCGA/GHIN through Dec. 31, 2017. Membership renewal, as well as membership for new members is $66. Pick up your membership application from the Four Season's Lodge Reception Desk. If you are a new member and have five scorecards, submit them with your application and you will receive an established handicap from SCGA. Should you have any questions contact Elliot Yaeger, (951) 223- 3735 or email: ey1611@gmail.com. From the Rules Chair – Tom Johnson If you hit the ball from off the green and it ends up stuck between the flag pin and the side of the hole, be careful what you do next. The ball is not holed out until it is within the circumference of the hole and completely below the lip of the hole. You need to move the pin sideways to let the ball drop to the bottom of the hole. If you pull the pin out and the ball comes out without dropping below the lip, your ball is deemed not to be holed, and it needs to be placed on the edge of the hole and putted in from there. If you remove your ball from ground under repair and you remove sand or loose soil from the area where you are going to drop the ball, you receive a two stoke penalty because sand and loose soil are considered a movable loose impediment only on the green. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We wish each and everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! DAYS OF PLAY: Come join the fun! We play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon. We invite anyone that would like to learn how to play Pickleball to come on down the fourth Saturday of the month at 8 am for lessons. We know you will have as much fun as we do. Players of all skill levels welcome. If you have any questions call Nancy at (951) 926-5018. Pickleball
