| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2016 |27 The Friendship Club had a very good year. Program director Susan Fitzpatrick brought exciting entertainment to the Main Clubhouse stage. Let's look back at the shows we enjoyed in 2016: In their red jackets, with their braces flashing, 36 boys of the renowned All-American Boys Chorus were the Friendship Club's first production in January. The Dukes of Dixieland, Celebrating Satchmo, was presented in February. In March, we enjoyed a show called The Legacy Continues, a musical tribute to the talents of Jackie Wilson by his son Bobby Wilson, a great artist in his own right. Susan Egan, "The Belle of Broadway," entertained us in April with favorites from famous Broadway shows. We were amused and entertained in May by a singing group called FOUR BY FOUR with "Legendary Music of the Beatles, Bee Gees, Beach Boys, and Motown." An exciting multi-media concert came to our stage in June, with Remembering the Ladies starring Toni Morrell, British singer/ entertainer/comedienne. One of the best shows of the year was Kubecca, The Ultimate Musical Odyssey, starring Rebecca Lowe and Kuba Kawnik in July. Kawnik's incredible musical ability and interesting instruments combined with Lowe's strong, clear voice to create "Kubecca". In August, we enjoyed Lovena B. Fox in the energetic "Versatility", showcasing familiar songs with her beautiful voice. An unusual double bill came in September, with comedic juggler, Jason Garfield, and the smooth, mellow sounds of Barry Minnifield, "The Singing Chef ". In October, Angela Wolcott presented A Tribute to Academy Award Favorites. Also on the double bill that evening was a talented quartet called The Mighty Echoes, singing classic Doo Wop in A Cappella. The last Friendship Club performance of 2016 was The Music of the Mills Brothers in November, with John Mills, son, grandson, and nephew of the original group's members. Rest assured that the shows in 2017 will live up to, if not surpass, the shows of 2016. See January's issue of Lifestyles for the act coming on Jan. 8. It'll be a doozy!
