46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2017 Life Guide Bible Study We celebrate God's amazing love in sending His Son into the world so that we might have abundant life through Him. A great way to close 2016 and look forward to the new year! We had a warm time of sharing at our Christmas Potluck, singing all our favorite carols and engaging in a little friendly competition with a Christmas Bible Quiz. We will resume the regular Tuesday evening studies on Jan. 10, 2017 in the Ballroom at 7 pm. Jim Seim is leading a series of studies about the transforming effects of discipleship to Jesus. Praise the Lord we made it through the holidays, and now it's time to get down to business. No! I don't mean making a New Year's resolution. How many have you actually kept? Our world is changing and we are forced to change with it or be left behind. First let's start with our new President-Elect Trump. Let us agree in prayer. First Timothy 2:1-4 and verse 8: I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplication, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior: who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. Verse 8 NLT: In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy. Second let's pray God promises for our family, the community, the sick and the United States. If God said in Jeremiah 33:3: Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things…" believe it! Isaiah said: For a child has been born for us! The gift of a son for us! He'll take over the running of the world. His names will be: Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness. Isaiah 9:6: The MSG Bible. Pray for our Nation like never before, pray without ceasing because we are in perilous times, read 2 Timothy 3 for clarity. My prayer for our community is that God will keep us in perfect peace and this will happen when we keep our mind stayed on him and not on problems we can't solve, so let not your heart be troubled just rest in the Lord. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15 NIV. Come join us on Jan. 2, in the Game Room, at 9 am.
