FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2017 53 We sure do have a great group of women who have become pretty darn proficient at the game of billiards (pool). There's lots of laughter, encouragement and advice during the fun play time. We added two new members in December: Judy Jones and Dianne Rothberg. They will both be assets to the group as they begin honing their skills. Our Dec. 5 holiday luncheon at Tukwet was so much fun. We had 18 ladies attend and each brought a gift to exchange. After we ate, we exchanged the gifts and then returned to the Lodge for our regular play time of 1 to 3 pm. Unfortunately, and very disappointedly, no pictures were taken of our amazing group having so much fun at the luncheon. Uh, is that grounds for firing the leader? Nonetheless, adjacent are two photos of the formal play as the members participate in this challenging (and sometimes frustrating) game. In 2017 we are looking forward to our first in-house tournament on Jan. 23. The ladies all did so well in the tournament we held in October, so they are diligently practicing (sometimes daily) they'll be ready. The following week, Jan. 30, the Curly Cues will be taking on the Billiards for Fun Group in the first-ever tournament. All the guys are pretty nervous, I'm sure. It will be so much fun… and humbling too. All you ladies who have wanted to learn to play billiards, please come check out our group. We play every Monday from 1 to 3 pm in the Billiards Room. Once you see how much fun we have, you'll want to join. Never played pool before? We have a solution for that: we'll teach you. Come on over and watch us play. Hope to see you in 2017! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine Curly Cues wild bunch Billiards The Wild Bunch 8-Ball Billiards Group is ready to begin another great season of competition, beginning Jan. 5. We are looking forward to bringing the Winter Championship Season Trophy back to Four Seasons. The Wild Bunch consists of some of the best players in the league: Larry Chase, Pete Antoine, Mike Corbett, Mike Fisher, Carlos Rivera and Gracy Luna. Four Seasons Wild Bunch will again show the competition that they are the team to beat! If you want to play serious, competitive pool, we invite you to stop by the Billiards Room when we practice on Wednesdays from 1 pm to 3 pm and join in the stimulation of competitive play.
