FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2017 43 Ballroom & Social Dance Our Christmas Dinner Dance was loads of fun, with over 150 in attendance. We always enjoy these events, and we thank you for your good support. As a reminder, we are not having our Valentine's Dinner Dance this year due to the ballroom being out of service for repair work. In April we'll have a another great event, our Spring Fling Dinner Dance. Entertainment and music will be provided by the excellent Skyline Xpress, and we'll have good food and lots of dancing. You'll see the poster with detailed information in the Lodge in early March. And more good news. We expect to be dancing on a brand new, much larger dance floor! No crowding along the edges or squeezing into a knot of dancers to find a place on the floor. You'll be able to express yourself as never before. Our dance instructions continue as usual, with introduction to dance at 6 pm, beginners dance at 6:30 pm, and more advanced dance from 7 to 8 pm. If you want to do something interesting, challenge yourself a little and get some exercise, you might as well have fun while you're at it. Contacts: Puring and Gary Stifter at (951) 922-8333, or at purings@ verizon.net. ~ Willis Fagan The January very beginner's class has seven students and all were able to do the Electric Slide by the end of thirty minutes. The next very beginner's class will be March 7 at 2:30 pm. This is only a 30-minute class, so it is important for every one to be there and ready to dance by 2:30 pm. The beginner's class is moving right along and picking up new dances faster. Some are ready step-wise to stay for the advanced class, but are hesitant to do so. My advice…go for it and stretch your skills. It is quite challenging at times, but keep trying. Very few of us learn a new dance in a single lesson. If the Ballroom work is completed, we will have a free sock hop Feb. 17, so mark your calendar and we will see if it all works out. Just in case, mark March 17 for a free sock-hop also. As usual both will be open to anyone for dancing and watching. Buy your food from Smitty's and BYOB for a fun evening (or two). As we age, exercise and brain challenging things help keep us young and moving. Line dancing is geared for people to dance alone, alongside other dancers. It always amazes me when I look around and most people are doing the same steps at the same time. It just takes practice. Join us in the Rec Center North building in February. Class times are listed in calendar section. Author Unknown Welcome to all new and returning dancers. Here we go, one month of our new year gone. It was sure nice getting back on our (dance) schedule. Some of us attended the Feast of Epiphany Line Dance event in San Bernardino and got an opportunity to practice our dance moves with others of our Heart and Soul Line Dance family. This month we look forward to our first workshop of the year on Sunday, Feb. 12. Hope you've all registered because we always have a great turn out for this event. See you on the dance floor. ~ Prisicilla Robles Left: Our dance instructor Cindy and her husband Chris Above: Sometimes things get crowded on the floor, but everyone has lots of fun With the giant Santa and reindeer background, Phil and Elizabeth Westbrook enjoy dancing
