FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2017 57
Proving definitively that they are a "lunch bunch"
more than a hiking club, the Take A Hike club spent their
December "hike" staying dry inside the comforting walls of
the Summit rather than braving the wind-driven rain storm
outside. Well, all but a half dozen hardy hikers, that is. These
brave or foolish idealists forsook (temporarily) the sweet
treats and beverages for a brisk forced march to the heights
of Four Seasons and a peek at the man-made star perched
brightly shining high in black night above Cherry Valley.
After rejoining their sedentary comrades in the Summit, they
participated in the pot luck finale to the 2016 hiking season.
The club voted to make their 2017 hikes on the first
Thursday each month. To find out where we are hiking, call
or email Lynette Simonson, Hike Central, at (951) 377-0392

TAKE A HIKE CLUB
January was unusually wet and cold with crisp winds making play a little difficult. However, diehard horseshoe slingers pressed on with
spirited play and a lot of fun. We're looking forward to a little better weather and some venue improvements that we requested in 2016. Our
January monthly social was cancelled, because it was so close after the holidays. So being the first of the New Year, it's a good time to come out
and join us especially all those of you that said last year, "I've been thinking about doing that." Just do it… fun and camaraderie guaranteed.
We meet every Wednesday at 9 am at the Summit. Contact Ron Erickson at (951) 846-3288, rejlerickson@sbcglobal.net or Gary Christie at
(951) 845-0520, goldtoy@earthlink.net. ~ Ron Erickson
