tennis Congratulations to our Men's Super Senior USTA 7.0 League Team for qualifying for the sectional championships, being held later this year, after clinching their league championship recently! Both men and women's teams will be beginning new leagues the last week of August, running through November, which will be open 3.5 leagues (meaning ages 18 and older). Testing our mettle against some younger blood! Sept. 1, at 8 a.m., is the monthly morning tennis mixer. Sept. 15-16, will be the men's and women's club doubles championships semifinal and final club matches. The preliminary matches to determine the qualifiers will be held during the prior week. sun lakers III @ canyon lanes Led by Bob Mejia's 610 scratch series, the RAVENS (Joe Grif- fin, Maureen Condon Tony Campana & Mejia) soared to claim the summer league championship by extending their lead to 5 1/2 games… with only position week remaining. However, four teams are still battling for second place. Shoulda Binz (Cleo & Elaine Higgins, Tina and Bob Cochran) are currently 1/2 game ahead of Ten In The Pit (Dottie Johsz, Marlene Zanders, Ron Mor- gan & Herb Breuer) with 3 Guys & a Doll ((Chuck Brash, Keath, Clyde & Russ Naugle) only 1/2 Game back and the Pick-Ups (Lu Seymour, Lisa Korbel, Carolee Matthews & Jerry Pardue) within 1/2 game.
