yiddish culture club We had an amazing, busy year these past eight months and we're looking forward to finishing out the year with even more intriguing offerings. An installation dinner, luncheon at the Tolerance Center in Rancho Mirage, Seder with traditional symbolic foods, ice cream social with baseball film, July BBQ with entertainment, and a very special cake when we hosted the Founders have set the tone for this year's meetings. In fact, someone suggested the motto for the club should be, "If you feed them, they will come!" It is not merely food that makes the meetings enjoyable but the variety of entertainments including thought provoking, historical and theatrical events in our warm and friendly environment. To continue this year's theme, we have planned a celebration of the New Year 5773 for our Sept. 12, meeting. The celebration, to be held in the South Clubhouse at 6 pm, will begin with a catered dinner including chicken soup with matzoh balls, gefilte fish, challa, kugel, brisket, roast chicken, veggies and honey cake (to welcome a sweet New Year.) You are welcome to bring your own wine, soda, etc. Coffee and tea are included. There will be entertainment after the dinner. The cost for this delightful evening is $15 pp for members and $18 pp for guests. All are welcome. Paid reservations, With summer drawing to a close, we have to remember that we don't just "fall" into healthy habits – we have to make a conscious effort to establish them. Fall can be the perfect time of the year to make a resolution, renew an old one, or the perfect opportunity to jump start a resolution that might have fallen by the wayside since January. TOPS has a chapter that meets right here at Sun Lakes to help and support you. Our weekly meetings offer programs about nutrition, exercise, wellness and more. We provide ongoing support and encouragement to members no matter where they are in their weight loss journey.
