Call Mary Ann Ivey (The Sock Lady) at 769-1095. sew what? club art league OTHER NEWS FROM THE SUN LAKES ART LEAGUE We will enjoy a demonstration by watercolor artist Suni Godbold at the next Art League meeting which will be held on Sun., Sept. 16, at 2 pm in the South Clubhouse. Each meeting includes a mini-show where members may display their artwork which is then voted on by those present. The winners are pictured right. Oil painter Jack Roberts will be the instructor at the Monday morning art class beginning on Sept. 3. The class will be held on 4 Mondays at 9 am in the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts room and is for all levels from beginner to advanced. Art League members will be given priority in signing up for the class, but non-members may be put on a waiting list. The fee for this class is $30 for the month for members and $35 for non-members. To sign up for the class with Jack or for more information, please contact Rosa Gascoigne at 845-7219. Please join us for our Annual Social event on Wed., Oct. 24, at the Main Clubhouse. We will be presenting "Spanish Night," an evening of Spanish dancing, singing and music. Take the opportunity to buy original art from the talented Sun Lakes artists, at a low price, and other fun activities. You don't need to be a member to attend - all Sun Lakers are welcome. We get together at the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room on the first, third (and fifth) Mondays at 1 pm. Share quilt designs, magazines, craft ideas, etc. We invite you to visit or join us at any time. We meet Tuesdays, 1 - 2:30 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. If you can sew, knit, or crochet, come and join us as we do our part to help the local charities. Some of the local organizations we service are San Gorgonio Hospital, Child Help, H.E.L.P., Child Care Consortium, VNA California and V.A. Hospital at Loma Linda and local convalescent homes. THANK YOU FOR THE DONATIONS OF YARN! Info., Diane Vecchione, 769-1953. FALL SHOW! The Art League's Annual Fall Show will be on Sat., Sept. 15, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Entry forms are available now in the Art League bin at the Main Clubhouse lobby, and the deadline for returning forms to Lu Just is Fri., Sept. 7. The show will open to the public at 11 am, and admission is free. All residents and their guests are invited to come see the beautiful artwork done by the many talented residents here at Sun Lakes.
