SPORTS & ACTIVITIES Phil Harris and Terry Miller Paddle Tennis Steve Bennet and Alan Chan Come and join us for fun and exercise. We have a small group of about 10 regular players but we have tons of fun. Regular play times are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 - 9 pm. We are also planning to play on weekends. Beginners are welcome. For more information call Alan at (951) 769-4202 or Jim at (951) 769-5525. Racquet Club Where, oh where, did our summer go? Labor Day is Monday, the hard court championships at the U.S. Open are underway, the Beaumont kids have been in school for two weeks and Halloween is a month away! Time to take down dates for the balance of your Four Seasons Racquet Ball Club (FSRBC) business and social calendar as we wind down another great year of tennis activities, with hardly any wind since February (yes, Yes, YES)! We start off with a hosted lunch Play Day on Sept. 8, with Cheryl Smith providing another of her great 'knock the snot' out of the ball drills at 8:30 am ($5 for members, $7 if not) followed with socially friendly doubles open play at 10 am Then we'll adjourn to the Cardroom for a FSBRC provided pizza lunch with side dishes while we hopefully watch "live" Men's semi-fi nal action from Flushing Meadows. This is a not-to-be-missed event as we plan on an auction and a door prize raffl e for a number of donated items including two one-hour private lessons with Cheryl, 250 business cards specially designed by Irve Sturner, a selection of tennis items collected by Cheryl from her 2012 tournament and offi ciating stops in Arizona, California and Texas. To make up for moving our August Play Day to Sept. 8, we will have a second Play Day on Sat., Sept. 29, same 8:30 am start-time with open play beginning at 10 am. This will be our fi nal organized play day for 2012 so come get your perfect strokes harmonized and indelibly entrenched in your memory bank to hold you until next spring. Our Annual Meeting will be Oct. 16, at 6 pm in the Lodge Ballroom. 32 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2012 We will treat you to dinner and light drinks, ratify our new offi cers for 2012-13, review our just completed season and collect dues for the New Year (still the best deal in the entire Inland Empire at $20 per member.) We'd love for you to be there… no charge for members and $6 for a non-playing spouse or guest. One of our super additions this year has been our expanded and always current website… built, maintained and fi nancially sponsored by Irve Sturner. This gem clearly sets out that we are a Hovnanian tennis community with lots of club news, dozens of pictures, trivia, tennis tips and now a retrospective of your fellow members who've won awards and honors at various state and national events. Who are they? Go to the www.FSBRC.org and check it out and then be sure to "bookmark" the site for one-click easy reference. ~ Ken Elliott
