Some team members are wearing their shirts backwards so that both front and back graphics are visible in the picture. Regardless of the way you wear your shirt, you do not need to have the offi cial team shirt to play table tennis. Everyone is welcome to join us in the aerobics room Monday through Saturday at 10:30 am. Hiking Club Every morning at Four Seasons as our residents awaken the sun also rises over Mount San Jacinto. It dances from side to side with the seasons but is always there inviting us for a visit. The Hearty Hikers accepted this invitation on 8 August to enjoy the cool mountain air at 6,000 feet on a shaded trail named for Ernie Maxwell. Hikers can either start alongside a dirt road near Idyllwild or off a paved road near Hobart Park. We chose the former. Here there is a steep four foot upslope to the trail from the road and one of our returning hikers slipped on the loose decomposed granite breaking her leg. The incident marred what had been a perfect hike in the mountains. There were numerous hikers FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2012 33 on the trail this day, some with their canine companions in tow. The journey is a relatively easy 2.6 miles uphill and, amazingly, 2.6 miles downhill on the return leg. The mountain forest has the full life cycle of plants on display from the newly born seedlings to the juvenile saplings to the mature Four Season-eligible majestic trees to the new homes for crawling critters. Our next "hike" will be a stroll on the beach at Crystal Cove on Sept. 12. We meet in the lodge parking lot a 8 am Hikers should confi rm hiking detail with Lynette Simonson prior to each hike.
