Happy Trails, Sheree! Left alone, Mother Nature would maintain Four Seasons Beaumont as open range for deer and cattle. But she needed a lot of help to make it an oasis community for senior living. For the past six years Assistant General Manager Sheree Harris has been her landscape director for this transformation. Sheree joined Euclid Management's staff near the end of 2006 as our community was fi rst being built. Saplings were being planted, turf was being laid and bushes placed to demarcate our boundaries. As with any new development, there were numerous adjustments to be made when we transitioned from a paper plan into a living garden. Some plants did not belong or thrive here. Some were in the wrong places. And some were in need of greater TLC. Sheree formed and led a team of landscape contractors, pest controllers and homeowners to address and correct these issues. The tasks were daunting as the community grew from a few homes into the 1,000 home development of today with 13 acres of plants and turf and 23 acres of fuel modifi cation zone. Well over fi ve thousand trees shade our yards, streets and open spaces today. Original plans for the Laurel Paseo Park and the Springdale community were modifi ed with new and more compatible vegetation and now are show places in the community. Ground cover, killed by damaging frost in hundreds of yards, was replaced with new plants more suited to our environment. Gophers, voles and moles destroyed lawns and planter areas but met their match with Sheree's team. For Sheree there was no let up with irrigation issues. Over pressure led to hundreds of breaks and leaks. Plans that called for drought- tolerant plants to be located with high water demand plants led to problems for both plant types throughout Four Seasons. Since 2007, we have doubled in size while our irrigation repairs have declined by 25 percent. Our water bills have only increased 15 percent yet the cost of water has increased over 100 percent. Administering Sheree Harris and past Landscape Committee Chairmen, Jacque Sneddon, Fred Weck, Phyllis Beede and Len Tavernetti To the residents of Four Seasons, Thank you for allowing me to serve you these past fi ve plus years. I will cherish the memories and personal connections I have made during my time here. If you ask me, Four Seasons has the greatest, most caring residents and an incredibly beautiful community. Although I didn't live here, I considered your community my home. I will truly miss Four Seasons at Beaumont. Always, Sheree Harris, Former Assistant General Manager FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2012 15 COMMITTEE NEWS By Len Tavernetti the workload of two landscape contractors with a budget well over $500,000 in addition to these other landscape costs has made Sheree key to controlling our expenditures as the Association has grown. Undoubtedly Sheree's most demanding assignment has come with addressing concerns of the homeowners about their plants and front yards. With residents from throughout the United States and a large variety of backgrounds in gardening the task of satisfying all their desires, issues and problems has been a very time consuming and patience challenging experience. Sheree has been up to it. Sheree also served as the Assistant General Manager at Four Seasons during her tenure adding to demands on her time and energy. She now leaves us for the browner pastures of Texas. Our community has been well served and she will be greatly missed. Thank you Sheree. Jacque Sneddon, Landscape Committee Chair, 2006-2008 Fred Weck, Landscape Committee Chair, 2008-2010 Phyllis Beede, Landscape Committee Chair, 2010-2011 Len Tavernetti, Landscape Committee Chair, 2011-Present
