Pickleball Club
As Sun Lakes rounds into the full bloom of spring, folks naturally
turn their attention to straightening up and flying right. We dig into
our attics and garages and pour forth treasures to be offered at the
semi-annual Garage Sale Extravaganza. And, we really get serious
about fitness, which is where your friendly Pickleball Club comes in.
This is an ideal time of year to get out and experience the satisfaction
the sport offers. It is a close-contact, small-court activity played
with paddles and specially designed balls that look like kids' wiffle
balls. In reality they are high-tech, suited to the dimensions and net
specified for Pickleball. The game can be enjoyed by young and old,
fit and on-the-way-back-to-fitness. Mainly, it is a game for those
who enjoy camaraderie where chats on the bench between matches
can be as rewarding as the exercise.
And speaking of camaraderie, club members are looking forward
to our next social event, the Summer Party, scheduled for Sat., July 22
at the South Clubhouse. Festivities begin at 5 pm and extend all the
way into the wee hours of nine o'clock or so.
So, if you missed out on New Year's resolutions this year, or saw
them go a glimmering before January was out, take this new season
as a time of new determination to come on out and learn more about
the game that has truly swept the country in recent years. We have
equipment to loan so no investment is required until you decide if
you like Pickleball. Our club officers can let you know the best play
