56 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2017 What defines a well-behaved dog? The American Kennel Club (AKC) provides guidance. In the coming months, we'll explore the AKC's Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) Certification. Some dog parents may wish to pursue certification but all doggie households benefit from reinforcing the behaviors addressed by the test. In D.O.G., we strive to live out the AKC's "Responsible Dog Owner's Pledge®" to the right. More on the CGC criteria will be shared in the coming months. The next D.O.G. meeting will be July 19 at 7 pm in RCN 3. If you are interested in learning more about CGC or our D.O.G. standards, please contact Patrick Gerety at (951) 769-7626. ~ Martha Baumgarten D.O.G. D.O.G. OF THE MONTH Lily ran loose in the high desert when she was found by a kind gentleman who took her to "Save a Small Dog Rescue." They brought Lily to the Beaumont Petco the week before Christmas. Ken and JoAnn Lutkus could not resist Lily's sweet little face. They immediately fell in love with her and gave her a forever family for Christmas. Lily is around 10 months old and is a bundle of energy and joy. She loves traveling in her "mom and dad's" RV with her companion cat, Sarah. ~ Alex Woodcock Photo credit: Alex Woodcock, Alexpressions Photography AKC RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNER'S PLEDGE® I understand that to truly be a Canine Good Citizen, my dog needs a responsible owner.
