FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2017 55 Ping Pong Ping pong balls and golf balls look a lot alike but you can't play golf with a ping pong ball or ping pong with a golf ball. The star players in this picture can teach you a lot about ping pong balls and how to hit them. Just join us in the Lodge Aerobics Room Monday through Friday at 10:30 am and Saturday at 11 am. We would love to have you. Please contact Niles Sundstrom at (951) 572-5119 or Alan Chan at (310) 251-9269 if you have any questions or need more information about your Four Seasons Ping Pong Group. Answers: 1. 2.70 and 1.62; 2. 70 - 165; 3. 40.0 - 42.7; 4. They both land at the same time ~ Niles Sundstrom Somebody told me it's May. I said "get outta here!" Even with my amazement and surprise, I still remembered that I promised you the results of our first quarter tournaments. Our Doubles Tournament was won by the team of Bob Cooper and Ron Erickson with Dave Thomason and Rich Yanes coming in second. Our Singles Tournament with 10 participants was won by Rich Yanes followed in second place by Victor Mayoral. Wow, we have way too much fun. See above pictures. Due to the reconstruction of the Bocce Ball Courts and improvements being made to the Horseshoe Courts at The Summit, we have moved our weekly play back down to the Lodge. The change brought back many memories and readjustments to throwing at the old venue, but it is nice to still have this option. Our April social with dinner at the Bistro followed by dessert at a member's home was hosted by Jeanne and Emile Pelletier. Who is on a dessert diet? Not me and even if I was, their desserts would make you think differently about that whole diet idea. As a side activity, a golf putting contest was held on their 3-hole putting green in the backyard. Ron Erickson was the defending champion, but was defeated by Jim Samples. Very nice job Jeanne and Emile! Even though we're in the process of improving our courts at The Summit to a top of the line, safe-and- playable venue, this is a good time to come out and join us and be part of the process. You will just love it, I promise. We meet every Wednesday at 9 am normally at The Summit, but currently at The Lodge. If interested please contact Ron Erickson at (951) 846-3288, rejlerickson@sbcglobal.net or Gary Christie at (951) 845-0520, goldtoy@earthlink.net. ~ Ron Erickson Horseshoe Club Far Left: Doubles, 1st place, Ron Erickson and Bob Cooper Middle: Doubles, 2nd place, Dave Thomason and Rich Yanes Near Left: Singles, 2nd Victor Mayoral, 1st place Rich Yanes Alan Chan, Sandi Roberts, Luis Luna, Jeannine Baker, Alex Castanon, Lian Lee, and Barry Pope
