FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2017 43 Ballroom & Social Dance Not your grandparents' dance. Not snooty or exclusive either. Get your dance on! Here and now. With a partner. All over the dance floor. To all kinds of music. In all kinds of places. Nothing to join – everything to enjoy! Come check it out on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm in the Lodge. You'll be glad you did. Contacts: Puring and Gary Stifter at (951) 922-8333, or at purings@ verizon.net. ~ Willis Fagan Summer is right around the corner and with it comes graduation parties and weddings. Which means dancing, usually including some country western. So May is your chance to learn how to dance country. There are five Tuesdays in May, so you have time to pick up at least some basic beginner dances. The beginner class is for only very beginners (and some repeats). You will be taught the basic steps to the Electric Slide and the Cupid Shuffle. Both are simple dances and are played at most weddings. I only teach this class every other month at 2:30 pm Tuesdays in the Lodge Ballroom. Please be on time, bring water and wear shoes that will slide on wood floors (leather soles) or order dance socks from www.thedancesocks.com that fit over the tips of your shoes and allow you to move easily. They are about $10/two pairs. The dancers are working on a dance for the PG 55+ show May 19 and 20. We are looking forward to the show and performing a fun dance for you to enjoy. As usual, the intermediate class is from 3 to 3:45 pm and the advanced class is from 3:45 to 4:30 pm each Tuesday in the Lodge Ballroom. Please watch the front desk for any changes once Ballroom renovation begins. For more information, call Martha Franck (951) 769-3889. ~ Martha Franck Line Dancing Heart & Soul Line Dance You know you've heard this all before. But some things are worth repeating, so here it goes. Like other moderate, low-impact, weight bearing activities, such as brisk walking, cycling or aerobics, dancing can help: • Strengthen bones and muscles without hurting joints • Tone entire body • Improve posture and balance (helps prevent falls) • Increase stamina and flexibility • Reduce stress and tension (depression) • Build confidence • Provide opportunities to meet people • Ward off illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and osteoporosis All these benefits combined in an hour or so of fun, who wouldn't want to try it! Join us on Wednesday, at 4 pm in the Lodge Ballroom. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (951) 922-0755. See you on the dance floor! ~ Prisicilla Robles
