FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2017 7 By Len Tavernetti, Board President Four Seasons at Beaumont is a shared community. We share the costs and the benefits of this great community. Our basic dues are the same for all homeowners and will remain stable if we continue our prudent management of our resources. Our costs for operations will increase commensurate with the increase in house sales of our last phase. We have the proper reserve accounts for our facilities to repair and replace as their service life warrants. Our builder intended our Association to be the flagship of their communities and we are meeting their expectations. As an "active" retirement community we are far exceeding expectations. Whether it is seated, standing, swimming or running, we are very active. In fact, we are so active that our recreational facilities are overwhelmed. And, even with the new recreation center, demand for courts, tables and pools presents a challenge for our playtime schedules. Plus, we will be adding over 350 new homes to our association over the next three years. Before we redesign our playgrounds, we need to make a detailed assessment of our present and future needs. Ten years ago many activities like Bocce, shuffleboard and even horseshoes went unused. Youngsters, that some of us were, had never heard of pickleball or paddle tennis. Now, 10 years and many aching bones later many chose these less strenuous activities. Yet the latest arrivals and those future homeowners may want strenuous activities unknown to current residents. The Board is establishing an ad hoc committee within the Facilities Committee to assess all our competing demands for activity facilities. Randy Balt will head this ad hoc committee to define all our requirements and make recommendations before we decide on modifications to existing facilities and locations within our three recreation areas. He will need a team that is focused on anticipating our future requirements and sharing our limited facilities. SHARING FACILITIES & DETERMINING RECREATION EXPECTATIONS OF ALL HOMEOWNERS Randy Balt, who heads up the ad hoc committee that will assess activity facilities, checks out the Lodge Pool. His swimming companions were not identified.
