6 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2017 From the CFO By Claudeen Diaz, Board Chief Financial Officer Life is good and Four Seasons Beaumont is getting back to normal. The election is over and Board member Jerry Monahan was re-elected. Repair of the trusses in the Ballroom are underway and dancing in the Ballroom will resume once the repairs are completed. The Rec Center 3 is almost complete, and we all will begin to enjoy the swimming pool, the putting green, the outdoor fire place, the outdoor courts, the gym and all the other amenities. We are looking good. By Leighton McLaughlin Jerry Monahan was easily elected to an HOA Board seat in the annual election held in April. He was alone on the ballot, but opposed by a write-in campaign by Lynette Simonson. Not being on the ballot proved a heavy handicap and Monahan won 1,359 to 60. Four other write-in votes were cast for Wayne Staples, two each for Tom Halley and Valerie Soristo, and one each for Randy Balt, John Kerry and Doug Smith. The three measures on the ballot, approval of the 2016 annual meeting minutes, approval of the 2016 annual election minutes, and the IRS ruling, were all heavily approved with over 700 votes for and less than 60 opposed. All but one of the 15 districts in Four Seasons achieved voters' quorum of 50 percent. District 1 had only 32 of its 70 households cast votes, for 45.7 percent participation. Monahan was already on the seven-member Board. He was appointed last year to fill the seat vacated by the death of Board Secretary Jean Sandoval. He will rejoin Board President Len Tavernetti, Vice President Jeanne Zarr, Secretary Fred Weck and Chief Financial Officer Claudeen Diaz. All are homeowner members and have a year left in their two-year terms. Builder K. Hovnanian Homes appoints two other members, presently Kevin Metcalfe and R.J. Hernandez. Their seats will be filled by elected homeowners at build-out. Originally it was planned to have two measures on the ballot to amend the CC&Rs to eliminate both cumulative voting on community-wide ballots and the district delegate system in Board elections. However, on advice of legal counsel, the Board decided to present the amendments in a separate election to be held in the next few months. Final Results of the HOA Election
