| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2017 | 55 Sun Lakers Monday at Moreno Valley Bowl Congratulations to our final season league champions! Team seven, "No Luck At All," with Linda Costell, Al Kaminsky, Lisa Park, and Dick Taylor closed out the top spot Monday in a tight series against team nine, "Have A Blessed Day," winning the match 2-1/2 games to 1-1/2 games. This contest between the first half season winners went right down to the last ball rolled by captain, Dick Taylor. The margin of victory was nine pins. The new champions have the honor of being the last for this longtime bowling league! The Moreno Valley Bowl will no longer have morning bowling. The past twenty plus years has seen the league go from 200 Sun Lakers, forming 40 five member teams to 10 four member teams with 27 Sun Lakers plus eight outsiders with five teams having only three active members. These teams bowled with a vacancy due to health issues. It is sad to see this era end, but we will move on and do our best! Thank you President, Hercules "Herk" Ranieri, Vice-President, Wanda Ranieri, and Connie Matty, Secretary/Treasurer for holding us together during these trying times. Our season concluded April 29 with a catered luncheon at the South Clubhouse with the Wednesday Home Again Sun Lakes Bowling League. Our very capable secretary for both leagues presided over the awards presentations. Her expertise throughout the seasons for Monday Sun Lakers and the Wednesday Home Again Sun Lakers made the experience a total success in our final season at Moreno Valley Bowl. We will miss her and wish her continued success in the future. The past twenty plus years have flown by so quickly and so many of us have enjoyed this experience.
