Join us for the annual 4th of July Golf Cart Parade. For residents who just want to watch, the carts will be turning right out of the Main Clubhouse this year, then right on Riviera, followed by a right back onto Country Club Dr, then into the Main Clubhouse parking lot. The opening ceremonies, award announcement and parade kick-off will all happen from inside the Main Clubhouse Parking Lot. For parade participants, application packets for the Golf Cart Parade and Classic Cars are available starting Wednesday, June 1 at the front reception desk at the Main Clubhouse. The theme for this year's celebration is "Discovering America." We will be offering ribbons and gift certificates to the restaurant for the following six categories: 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, Most Original, Most Creative, and Spirit Award. The deadline to register your cart is Fri., June 30. The schedule for the day is: 9 am: Classic car viewing, Parade Judging, Pineapple Jam playing at Main entry way 9:45 am: Opening Ceremonies, National Anthem by the Sun Lakes Barbershop Chorus, Presentation of Colors 9:50 am: Awards Announced & Precision Stardust Dance Routine 10 am: Parade starts – turning RIGHT out of the Main Clubhouse 11 am: Classic Car Display in parking lot & BBQ in Ballroom & Veranda 11 am – 2 pm: Games and Contests TBD | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2017 | 13 Sat., July 1, 7 - 8:30 pm, doors open at 6 pm. The premier Eagles tribute band Desperado is back and will be playing live at Sun Lakes Country Club in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. This is the classic rock concert that you won't want to miss out on! The band consists of five lead vocalists and instrumentalists, and includes members who have actually played with the Eagles. They will be performing the Eagles soaring harmonies while executing the guitar parts and rhythm track to perfection. Desperado challenges the listener to tell the difference between what is being played live and the original versions of the songs. The show will be theater seating, first come first serve.
