| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2017 | 3 By Sandra Moyer FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK CC&R & Rules – A Love / Hate Relationship! We have 3,327 homes here and over 6,000 residents all with different wants, needs, and opinions. So why do we need CC&Rs and Rules – " Consistency and Fairness." The trick is to identify what can change and what should not. True principles don't change. How we put them into practice does. The goal here is to keep Sun Lakes in its pristine condition and appearance, and to address the safety and wellbeing of all residents. When you bought and even before you signed the dotted line, you should have been given and read the CC&Rs & Rules that govern Sun Lakes. Most of the residents follow those rules, but a few feel the need to challenge them. Overnight parking seems to be one of those challenges. The Board tries to accommodate when it is an emergency situation. An example would be work being done on house or garage. Having too many vehicles or one that does not fit inside your garage does not warrant a variance. So please respect our CC&Rs and Rules, they are for the benefit of all. New events and upcoming Town Hall Meetings: Hopefully you get a chance to try the new limited Sunday breakfast buffet (first Sunday of the month brunch will stay the same). It will be available the second, third and fourth Sundays from 9 am to 2 pm, at a cost of $10.95. You may order breakfast off the menu until 11. The lunch menu will be 11 am to 2 pm. Mark your calendars to attend one of our two Town Hall Meetings to be held in the Ballroom on July 20 from 6 to 8 pm or on July 28 from 10 am to 12 pm. Topics of discussion both days will be ID cards and qualifications to run for the Board. Please keep in mind these meetings are to get your thoughts and ideas. The Board does not make any decisions on the topics at that time. Food for Thought: We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors… but they all exist very nicely in the same box. The management team will conduct a New Homeowner Orientation Meeting on Mon., Aug. 21, 2017 in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom at 5 pm. Staff will be present to discuss the various aspects of Sun Lakes and answer questions new owners may have concerning the community. Please RSVP by Thurs., Aug. 17, 2017, to the Main Clubhouse receptionist either in person or by calling (951) 845-2191. The Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association Board of Directors will be conducting two town hall meetings in July. The topics being discussed include the possible use of member ID cards at Sun Lakes. Secondly, amending the rules pertaining to qualifications for board members. The Board strongly encourages you to attend these meeting. Your input is desired. The meetings will be Thurs., July 20, 2017 at 6 pm and Fri., July 28, 2017 at 10 am. New to Sun Lakes? TOWN HALL
