Cox, 74, a seven year resident of Sun Lakes Country Club joined his mother and Father in heaven on April 11, 2017, after a three-year battle with lung cancer. He passed away at the VA Community Living Center in Loma Linda. Ron was born at home in Des Moines, Iowa on February 28, 1943. He joined the United States Navy shortly after he graduated high school, receiving basic training in San Diego. Ron served on the USS Washburn during the Vietnam War. Upon leaving the military he returned to California and built a successful career in sales and management. He is survived by his wife, Annette Cox, daughter, Kimberley, step-daughter, Tiffany, four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, one sister, one sister-in-law, and two brothers. Our world is a smaller place without him! William Bartlett Fraser was born Monday December 13, 1926 in Long Beach, California to Thelma and Thomas Fraser. In his youth he attended schools in Bloomington, California, until his parents moved to Redondo Beach to work in the newly opened shipyards. Bill attended Redondo Union High School where he played football and pole vaulted. In 1943, at 17 years old, he joined the Navy by choice to avoid being drafted into the Army. While in the Navy he served on a mine sweep tender and did a tour through Japan during World War II. Upon returning home he loved spending time at the beach at Avenue C and Knob Hill in Redondo. It was at the beach he met the love of his life, Cathy, who he married on his 20th birthday, December 13, 1946. Cathy and Bill had three boys together, Tom, Bill and Mike. Bill enjoyed all things water, including scuba diving, fishing, surfing, lobster diving and frogging which he later enjoyed teaching to his boys. He also joined a group of young men called the Underwater Adventures Club. Bill had begun to work at the Mobil Refinery in 1946 and retired a few months shy of 40 years of service in 1985. While working for Mobil, the Frasers lived in Torrance as well as Saudi Arabia and Iran for several years. Bill loved to travel and explore the world with his wife, Cathy. Bill and Cathy lived several places during their lives including Washington, San Diego, Lake Havasu, and settled together in Banning, California and became proud residents of District 23 here in Sun Lakes. Bill also loved his adventures; at around 40 years old he went sky diving, at 76 years old he hiked a total of 9 miles and bungee jumped, and rode the Goodyear Blimp in his 80s. He loved his annual fishing trips every May. On December 13th, 2016 he celebrated his 90th birthday and his 70th wedding anniversary with Cathy. Bill was very well loved by his friends and family and was known by many as S.O.B. which stood for "Sweet Old Bill." There are no words to describe his goodness, kindness and willingness to help others. He had an amazing sense of humor, loved to tell jokes and was a great man. Bill passed away on Sunday, June 4, in Banning, California. He is survived by his wife Cathy, his sons Tom and Bill, his four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Raymond Harold Hite, 89, May 28, 1928 - May 29, 2017, passed quickly and peaceably with family all around. Ray was born in West Virginia, the youngest of 10 children. As a blended family Ray and Caroline have five children, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren with one on the way. Ray and Caroline have lived in Upland, Oceanside, and most recently in Sun Lakes for the last 10 years.
