24 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2017 | | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2017 | 25 Celebrations of Life Team Sunshine has lost one of its sunbeams. We mourn the loss of Phyllis Brumfield who was one of our very first Sunshiners. There are just not enough superlatives to describe this lovely, gentle, caring woman. Her kindness spread from one group to another. She was involved in so many facets of the Four Seasons community: Team Sunshine, Social Committee, Four Seasons Players, Election Board, Day Trippers and more. She rarely missed a Board Meeting. She was also a docent at the Nixon Library for 15 plus years. She supported the arts: Ramona Hillside Players and the theatre group in Idyllwild. She set the bar high for volunteerism. A celebration of life will be held on June 25 from 11 am to 3 pm in the Lodge Ballroom. We learned recently that Barbara Morrison's son passed away. Our heartfelt condolences go to this family. We often do not have information on others who may have passed in this community. Again, our sympathy to those who have suffered loss. The Kindness Program Team Sunshine's Kindness Program is as easy as recording someone's special deed on a Kindness Card. These cards are found at the Lodge Front Desk, or you can contact LaDean Hatcher who leads this effort. Be the reason someone smiles today! Special Team Sunshine Information We encourage residents to call Margie Culton 491-4058 or Brenda Beers 306-6670 for Team Sunshine information. They will direct you to the individual in Team Sunshine who can help with your concern. Thank you. A good source of Team Sunshine information is the Caring Connection Card which can be obtained at the Lodge front desk. Please stop by and pick up your copy. If you know of someone who has had surgery, recovering from an illness, etc., please contact Trish Egan at (909) 844-3852. She will send the appropriate card. This information is also passed to a calling team. They will initiate a call as follow-up. Special Monthly Programs The May Health Fair – The benefit of having a Health Fair is giving our community another resource for tracking health concerns. The folks who attended had a wide variety of screenings to choose from, as well as valuable resource information to take home and consider for the future. Our June Program: "Tales from 30,000 Feet" – This was an evening program featuring Donna McLaughlin (a Sunshiner) and a former American Airlines Flight Attendant. About 100 attendees were delighted with the "Tales" information and clever production. If you attended, you were a passenger on an American Airlines flight. By the way, the plane landed safely! We plan on presenting another evening program this year. Thank you, Donna, Pilot and Flight Attendants! Closing Thoughts "Keep your eyes to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows." ~ Helen Keller Team Sunshine Phyllis Brumfield Above: Tales from 30,000 Feet Above: May Health Fair
