By Cindy Graves I am quite sure that by the time you read this, you will have already gone down to see the brand new Courts facility yourself. "The Courts Opening" of June 24, which ended up being a little five hour "sneak-peek" due to delays in materials and city inspections, was still fairly exciting. We ended up with nearly 300 people walking through to get a preview of this new community asset. K. Hovnanian Board member and Project Manager of the Courts, Kevin Metcalf along with Jason Mock, was at the event to do the honors of cutting the ribbon, and Dana Crane of KHOV Marketing, hired a D.J. and had some adorable ping-pong table, tennis ball, and beach ball cookies custom made for the occasion. The opening of the tennis courts themselves included a separate ribbon cutting by the Four Seasons Tennis Club Captain, Irve Sturner. Immediately following the cutting was a wonderful dance team presentation choreographed by Martha Franck, called "We are Tennis." It was awesome and really helped make the opening special! I still have their catchy dance tune stuck in my head… in a good way. After the tennis exhibition match was the ping-pong christening and Martinelli's toast! The whole ping-pong group celebrated this long-awaited space that will allow them to not always be the perpetual bane of the aerobics classes, because they have for so long had to share a small room. Ping-pongers were so overjoyed with this space that they gave a really nice expression of thanks to Kevin and his crew for going above and beyond for this community. The room where the ping-pong tables will live is actually a multipurpose room and between ping-pong play time there will be occasion for other groups to use that space as well. Feel free to go down and check out all of the amenities in this facility. You'll find two dry saunas, a lovely lap pool, jacuzzi, a putting green, tennis courts, barbecues, loggia, super-duper gym with free weights and more!
