62 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2017
Finally, the big fish are starting to bite. Went to a place called Little
Lake in Hemet and was able to catch five nice catfish that were three
to five pounds. Would like to get with the fishing club on the 8th of
August and go to Little Lake as a group. They will stock some Catfish
on the seventh so we should be able to catch some really big fish the
next day.
At the time I am writing this article my health is not so great. I
know that some of our Four Seasons people are handicapped and
believe that they can not go fishing. Right now, about the only sport
that I can do is fishing. Most of the lakes and parks that I fish at cater
to handicapped folks. I have had help carrying my gear to the rental
boat and even having someone give me a ride to my car that was in
the parking lot. There are spots on the lakes that you can drive up to
if you have a handicap sticker on your vehicle.
I have talked to several fishing guides and they have told me that
they have no problem fishing with a person that is handicapped.
Sometime soon I would like to arrange a fishing trip that anyone can
go on. Just sign up at the Lodge. I am sure that we can find some
drivers that will be willing to take us to the fishing spot.
I have to be honest with you and let you know that fishing is not
cheap. Sometimes, I have ponied up several hundred dollars to go
on a deep sea fishing trip. Most of the time when I go to a lake, the
average cost is about forty dollars. The more people that go, the less
it costs to fish. Seniors can almost always get a senior discount. The
best time to go fishing is during the week, you will find the best deals
and the places are a lot less crowded.
Tight lines to all my fishing friends and remember you don't have
to be in the best of shape to go fishing. You can always have one
of your fishing buddies help you bring in the big ones. ~ Richard
