We hope you enjoyed seeing the classic car display on July 4th, and
in the parade that followed.
Cruzin'Cronies is a Classic Car Club that meets the first Saturday
of each month. We display our cars at 8 am in the Main Clubhouse
parking lot, and then meet briefly in the Multipurpose Room at 8:30
am. During the meeting, we plan group trips to various venues, and
report on car shows many of us have attended or plan to attend. After
the meeting, we go out for breakfast to enjoy each other's company.
Neil Torrence received a 1st place award for his 1942 Packard
formal sedan in a nationally judged Classic Car Club of America
Grand Classic on June 11, for cars in the 1940-1942 class.
Ken and Lavinia Brass' 1938 Packard "120" Touring Sedan won
several awards recently:
1) Best of Show on May 20 in the Banning Chamber of Commerce,
Wheel of Fortune Car Show, benefitting VFW Post 23,
2) 1st Place Trophy on May 27 in the Cherry Fest Car & Motorcycle
Show, pre-1940 category, and
3) Best in Class on June 11, 2017 in the All American Originals Car
Show, for 1933-40 Sedans and Coupes.
Come join us at our next meeting on Sat., Aug. 5. There are no
dues, just friendship, outings, and laughter. You don't even need a
classic car to be a part of this happy group! For more information,
call or email Sandra Glickman at 267-1113 or glickman18@gmail.
com. We'd love to have you join us!
28 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2017 |
Cruzin' Cronies
There will be no meetings of the Photo Group during July and
August. This has always been vacation time though, why would
anyone leave Sun Lakes in summer? The next meeting will be on Sept.
11. Meetings are always held at the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose
room at 7 pm on the second Monday of the month. A reminder on
the Sept. meeting will be in the September issue of Lifestyles. Hope
everyone had a good time in June at our annual potluck picnic. Take
plenty of photographs during summer. You can bring up to five on a
CD or flash drive (thumb drive). If you have seen our tutorial on the
Rule of Thirds, try to do that in your summer photos. As they say in
the song: "See you in September."
