32 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2017 |
Our September General Meeting is Sun., Sept. 17, at 2
pm at the South Clubhouse. Marge Amstadter will
demonstrate how to do sculpture with bread dough.
Unlike clay, this is a fast, easy and clean sculptural
art form that can be made at home, baked in
your own oven, and does not require any special
tools. It can be used by artists of all ages and is a
sculptural process that always comes out well. The
dough can be colored with food coloring when mixed or
painted after baking. No special tools are needed, other decorations
can be added before or after baking and cost is minimal. The best
part is that you don't have to wait days or weeks for the results
because you will take what you have made home with you and bake it
in your own oven. If handled with a minimum of care, the resultant
sculptures can last for many years.
Marge will also hold a one-class workshop one week later on Mon.,
Sept. 25, in the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room for those who
sign up at the meeting. The cost for the workshop will be $20 which
includes the dough and additional decorations as well as written
instructions and other supplies.
The Fall Art Show will be held on Sat., Oct. 7. Entry forms for Art
League members are available now in the Art League bin at the Main
Clubhouse and will be at the September General Meeting. All entry
forms are due to Debbie Waddell by Fri., Sept. 30.
