40 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2017 | Dinner Dance Club With the worst of the summer heat hopefully behind us, it's time to think about increasing our activity and enjoying the cooler weather. What better way to do that than joining us at Dinner Dance Club and kicking up your heals… or if you're not inclined to cut a rug, maybe just get out of the house and join your friends for a nice dinner and social evening. October's dance is Sat., Oct. 21, and sign-ups are from Oct. 1 through the 12th. Drop off your sign up sheet and checks at 782 Torrey Pines Road in the box provided at the front gate. We will dance to the music of a popular group, Show Down. Dinner selections are: 1) Half roasted chicken $23.50; 2) Boneless braised short ribs $23.25. Both of these entreés are served with new red potatoes and chef 's choice veggies. 3) Eggplant Parmesan $22, also with chef 's choice veggies. Dessert will be delicious cheesecake with raspberry dribble. Doors will open at 5:30 pm with dinner served around 6 pm. With the cooler season upon us, we will return to our "dressy" format for the next few months. Have you paid your membership for the coming 2017/2018 year? If not, you must include that membership fee with your sign-up checks in order to attend (separate checks, please.) If you sign up and are unable to attend, please call Carla at 797-3506 before 3 pm on the day of the dance so she can make arrangements for you to pick up your meal to enjoy at home. International Dancers If you have been following this column, you know that our annual show, "Festival Of Dances and National Costumes," is Sat., Nov. 4 at 7 pm and Sun., Nov. 5 at 3 pm. Admission is $10 pp and tickets will be sold in the Main Clubhouse Lobby for two weeks beginning Mon., Oct. 2. Ticket sale hours Oct. 2 - Oct. 6 are 9 am to 2 pm. Ticket sales Oct. 9 - Oct. 13 are 2:30 to 6:30 pm. For ticket information, call Sussy Arzubiaga at 797-3258. To enhance your show experience this year, a mini-bar setup in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom will facilitate cocktail service. Also, for the first time, the restaurant will offer an appetizer buffet for $10; a limited number of tickets will be offered for sale alongside show tickets during the days and times indicated above. Doors open at 6 pm Saturday and at 2 pm Sunday. Plan to arrive early to greet friends, purchase your 50/50 and raffle tickets, order a beverage, have a snack, and then enjoy a unique and exciting show.
