| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2017 | 41 The Big Band Dance Club will meet Wed., Oct. 18, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom at 5:30 pm. Music will be provided by Main Street Swing Band. They will be playing all types of music. At this time we will be accepting nominations for the following officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Decorations, Greeters and 50/50. As usual, you may purchase beverages and/or order snacks. If you don't dance, come and enjoy the company of others and the music. We are not a dance club, just people who enjoy good music and wonderful companionship. Entry fee is $10 for members and $15 for non-members each month. You may direct any questions to Mike and/or Carol at 845-5962. We hope to see many of you there. Big Band Dance 80s Plus Club Our August dinner was at the North Clubhouse. We had the amazing group Diversity entertain us. That group consists of our own Jim and Susan Fitzpatrick and Fran Kramarski as the dancers and Larry and Sheila James as the singers. They have a wonderful variety of some vaudeville numbers with Susan and Fran dancing as well as Larry and Sheila singing. Larry and Sheila alone are so popular with the 80s Club all by themselves that it is always a treat to have them. But with the group Diversity it adds some really different flavor. They ended with Sheila singing All That Jazz which is sensational all by itself and Susan and Fran dancing jazz along with them making for a spectacular finale. October (North Clubhouse) and November (South Clubhouse) are both catered dinners. Please get your reservations and checks for $11 pp to Sandee at 909-301-9044 by the end of the month prior. Spouses and caregivers are welcome to attend as well. For information call Barb at 845-7904. WANTED. All Sun Lakes men who would like to participate in the Tommy Bahama Fashion Show, a spring Fashion Show, and the Annual Stardust Show. Modeling Men's outfits and doing a fun novelty number will be taught in this new men's class. One class a month is all that is required to start. Call Evelyn Hawkins at 845-7199 for more information or to join. The only requirements are: 1. An interest in the class. 2. A Sun Lakes resident. 3. Open to having fun. 4. Willing to learn something new. 5. Able to walk on stage. All classes will be held after 3 pm at the South Clubhouse or stage. New lady students are also invited to participate in our classes in dance or modeling. Stardust Dancers We offer Luau Entertainment for your private party or club! WOW, what a great summer! Makua Hula has had several successful shows. Every audience let us know how they enjoyed our beautiful dancers and felt they were taken back to Hawaii. We started in June with the two-day Stardust Dance Show followed by a show for the 80s Plus Club. We also had a great time with the Young At Heart Club. We were invited to the Miravilla Nursing Home in Cherry Valley and our last, but not least, favorite show at The Lakes Memory Care Center.
