On Oct. 8, the Friendship Club presents a fabulous double bill of
iconic DooWop music: Billy Richards' Coasters and The Dazzling
Drifters.
Billy Richards' Coasters is one of two legitimate Coasters groups
performing today. They have appeared on numerous TV shows and
commercials.
The original Coasters were a DooWop legacy, defining the comedic
style of the 50s, with songs like "Yakity Yak (Don't Talk Back)," "Charlie
Brown," and "Poison Ivy." Richards himself sang with the original
group for 24 years, and their music continues to live on through Billy
Richards' Coasters.
The Dazzling Drifters is an American DooWop, R and B, and
soul vocal group that proudly presents the fabulous music of the
original Drifters, including "Save the Last Dance For Me," "This Magic
Moment," "On Broadway," "Stand By Me," and many more.
Join us for an evening of great harmony, fun choreography, and
superb voices singing the hit songs of our younger days.
Tickets are $20 for members, $25 for non-resident guests. Doors
open at 6 pm, show begins at 7 pm. Make checks out to the Friendship
