Isn't fall one of the best times of year? The beauty of the leaves on the trees changing color and the cooling of the weather as we look forward to the coming holidays make everything seem extra special. Getting together with friends and relatives at this time of year also lends itself to that unique holiday feeling. You can get a feeling of friendship and family when you join us for Karaoke with Barb Miller, Rosie Ingalls and D.J. Blast. No matter when you may happen by with the songs you may want to sing or simply try for the first time. You'll be welcomed and added to the queue of singers at hand. You may simply want to sit and watch some pretty amazing talent at times or join in on some of the dancing that happens spontaneously. We have been getting many new visitors and made new friends at our shows in recent months. We have continued to expand our seating arrangements with each new session. We applaud our monitors for the splendid job they do in getting the clubhouses ready every month for our shows. They do it with little thanks but we always try to do our best to let them know that we appreciate what they do. So as we dive into October and head for Halloween, you may want to dress up just for fun as we get closer to that holiday and even sing a fun related song like Michael Jackson's "Thriller" or "Ghostbusters" or dance to "The Monster Mash." Whatever the occasion, most likely we have the music you will need to make the celebration festive. D.J. Blast is always working to expand his Karaoke files to keep up with the ever changing needs of the Karaoke attendees who are constantly trying out new and different songs that make the music charts as the years roll on. If you have not joined Barb, Rosie & D.J. Blast for "Good Times Karaoke," you should make this October the target month to come and join us for karaoke in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom on Fri., Oct. 13 and the South Clubhouse on Fri., Oct. 27. Shows are 5:30 to 9 pm. Let's get together for karaoke this month and, as usual, we will keep a mic on for you. 28 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2017 | Karaoke Group Chorale The restructured Chorale of Sun Lakes came together last month with almost 100 members. We are practicing for our annual Holiday Concert Series which will be presented on Nov. 30, Dec. 2 and 3. President Jim Searcy welcomed the assembled group, and introduced our new director, Mark Faber. He also introduced our officers--vice-president Barbara Shova, secretary Linda Vieira, treasurer Donna Kissling, and librarian Karen Royer.
