42 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2017 | Int'l Culture Club The last three months of the year are very special at the ICC, as we put out all of the stops in order to celebrate the events that occur during those months. Starting with the second Thursday evening of October, we celebrate with an early Halloween bash. Doors to the Ballroom open at 5:30 pm and all kinds of characters start coming in: witches, pirates, clowns, dance hall girls, and goblins. You name it, they gather here every year at this time after hiding our in some place in Sun Lakes just waiting for the right time to make an appearance and do their traditional march around the dance floor sometime during the evening Global Affaire will provide the dance music for the evening and starts at 6 pm. Our dinner buffet for the evening will feature chicken marsala, tri tip with peppercorn sauce, mashed potatoes and chef 's vegetables. A salad of chopped lettuce with mushrooms, red onion rings, tomatoes, bleu cheese crumbles, Italian and bleu cheese dressings along with warm rolls and butter will be at the table. The dessert of pumpkin cheesecake will also be table served along with coffee and water. Iced tea will be found on a sideboard. Doors open at 5:30 pm, the dinner buffet starts at 6:30 pm and is generally over by 7:30 pm. You can sign up for this fun evening on the first Thursday afternoon at the North Clubhouse at 3 pm, $24 for a club member, $27 for a non-resident guest. If you cannot attend after signing to do so, call Carol Hurt at 769-1315 no later than Sunday after sign up and she will return your check. Otherwise, call her for a take out meal box that can be picked up the night of the party. Just about half of our members wear a costume to celebrate Halloween and the other half do not so you will be comfortable in whatever you chose to do. Info., Diane, 769-9308 We are now into another year of good music and dancing. The club gives dance instructions for both line dancing and couples dances. The dances on Friday evenings is our chance to get together with other nice people practice all the dances we've learned and have a little fun. With our club everyone, whether a single or a couple, can come and be welcomed at our activities. We have two Country Western Dances this month. The first is on Fri., Oct. 6, and the second is Fri., Oct. 20. Our Friday night dances are in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom from 7 to 9 pm. Line dance instructions will be held at the South Clubhouse on Mon., Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, from 7 to 8:30 pm. We are still teaching beginner line dances so you can still come and give it a try.
