46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2017 August was devoted to the Book of Ruth. Led by Mary Baer, we were given insight into the relationship of Ruth and Naomi as well as Ruth and Boaz. Boaz, the son of Rahab of Jericho, became a wealthy landowner in Bethlehem, and was the kinsman of Elimelech, Naomi's late husband. The discussion was inflected with bits of romance, as Naomi and Boaz proceeded toward marriage. Ruth is an amazing story of devotion, wisdom, love and commitment. Thanks to Mary Baer for her dedication in bringing this book to life for the women in "Believeā¦" Women's Bible Study. In September we resumed the series "Living Like a Superhero." We discussed traits Christian women have that are similar to those of the fictitious superheroes enjoyed by young people today. For instance, we learned that we are: strong, courageous, tenacious, purposeful, pursuing excellence, helping others, powerful and committed, just like those fictional superheroes! The Bible discusses each of these traits exhibited by strong Christian women, and encourages us to be diligent in continuing to be the best women we can be. On Sept. 22 we celebrated Jane Pihl's birthday, complete with balloons, banners, cupcakes and singing. Jane turned 100 on Aug. 30, but since her daughters took her on a vacation, we were not able to celebrate until the 22nd. We even invited a reporter from the Record Gazette to interview Jane, so look for the forthcoming article! Congratulations to an amazing woman. We love you, Jane! On Sept. 29 we begin a study of "Walking Where Jesus Walked," focusing on many of His parables and verbal gifts. If you are interested in joining a unique group of amazing and beautiful women of God, come by Lodge Game Room any Friday from 10:30 to 11:45 am. We will be looking for you! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine "Believeā¦" Women's Bible Study Life Guide Bible Study During October, Jim Seim will continue leading our studies in Philippians, "Immersed in Christ's Joy."
