FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2017 25 It may be October, but temperatures are still warm here at Four Seasons. Living in the Inland Empire region of Southern California has many advantages, including great fall weather. For those residents with pets, some time is often spent outdoors walking them or allowing them to enjoy the nice weather as well. In our pet-friendly community, we do need to observe some rules and our Community Guidelines provide just that. First, a shout-out to all those who have dogs. Many residents belong to the Dog Owners Group (D.O.G.) that is very active. Unfortunately for cat lovers, no group exists. This is an omission that can be easily corrected. How about a Cat Advocates Team (CAT)? Sign me up! I'm ready to join! Regarding walking our pets, they must be kept on a leash being held by an individual who is capable of controlling the animal. When not being walked, they must be kept within an enclosure or an enclosed yard. Pets are not allowed at the Lodge, Summit and Courts or in the facility recreation areas which includes all areas of grass. Each resident must immediately clean up after their pets. This includes the trail system since pets are allowed there. Offenders should be reported to First Service, our management company, and/or the Board of Directors. Excessive dog barking or other animal noise may be considered to be a nuisance. If the dog barks, bays, cries, howls or makes any incessant noise (yes, these are all listed in the Community Guidelines), for 30 minutes or more in a 24-hour period or intermittent noise for 60 minutes or more in a 24 hour period, this will be considered to be a nuisance and should be reported. The bottom line is that pets are great. We love them and some research indicates that they might even add years to our lives. The rules for having them at Four Seasons are easy to follow. Pick up after them, avoid the areas where they are not allowed, and make sure you can control them when on a leash. And don't forget to keep the barking, baying, crying and howling to a minimum! ~ Margie Chadburn Rules & Regulations committee This committee is making good progress in meeting its objective to carefully plan the HOA takeover from K. Hovnanian which is anticipated to occur within the next two years. In addition to developing a comprehensive transition plan, this last month the committee heard a storage needs analysis by Willis Fagan. He generously shared his impressive professional skills with a presentation of architectural drawings depicting three storage options for consideration. He will be visiting various committees to inform them of storage possibilities and to solicit their input. The committee also discussed two other issues: space allocation for the Billiards Room and parking capacity for The Courts which will be researched further. We welcome homeowners' interest. Our meetings are at 9 am on the fourth Thursday of the month in the RCN Conference Room. Please come visit us. ~ Johanna Ballard Community Planning & Transitioning Committee
