48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2017
Kiwanis Club of Beaumont
Well I goofed on the dates of the Oktoberfest in my article last
month. We actually worked the Oktoberfest on Sept. 15, 16 and
17. We sold apple strudel and ice cream and made some money for
further projects.
In September, our club donated $500 to the Beaumont Travel Club
Girls Soccer team. This money will help the girls who cannot pay
their fees to be on the soccer team. So far this year the soccer team is
having a great year, with a lot of wins over the other cities they have
played in our area.
My presidential term will be ending at the end of this month. Our
incoming president is Jim Bice, a teacher at ChildHelp. The newly
elected Vice President is Sue Pensak, a dog breeder of Springer
Spaniels. Our Secretary/Treasurer will be Anna Marie Roush, she
works for the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department as an
intake officer at the jail.
Our club is small and we are always looking for more members
to help with community service work. The Beaumont Kiwanis Club
meets at the Beaumont Four Seasons Lodge Conference Room every
Thursday except for the first Thursday of the month. The meeting
starts at 6:30 pm, if you wish to order food prior to the meeting
come in early about 5:45 pm order your food at Smitty's Bistro and
come into the meeting early. You do not need to be a resident of Four
Seasons to attend a meeting. Just give Buzz a call and we will have
your name added to the list for gate entry.
Please come out to see what Kiwanis can do for you and what you
can do for the community and the "Kids of the World."
For Information about our events and attending a meeting call
Buzz Dopf at (909) 208-0880 or come to a meeting on Thursdays. ~
