FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2017 53 Curly Cues rock! We are heading toward the end of another year, and have had so much fun. The expertise has grown exponentially with the addition of each new member while members get to know each other better. We begin our sessions by pulling peas to determine partnership and table assignments. What are peas, you ask? Please see the adjacent photo of two Curly Cues laughingly showing off the peas they pulled to assign their partnership for play that day. (If you still don't understand, peas are little red balls with numbers on them.) Check out the excellent form of two of our newest players: Linda Amsbry and Suzanne Roldan. This is a great group of really fun ladies who play for fun and skill improvement. Sure, they can be competitive, but that's the nature of the game, and fun is always factored in. Oct. 23 was our last in-house tournament for the year. Winners and their photos will be displayed in the December issue of the Breeze and their names will go on the plaque in the Billiards Room. In January we will have the first in-house tournament of the new year and an invitational tournament against another women's billiards group in the area. So, January will be tournament-loaded! C'mon over to the Billiards Room any Monday from 11 am to 1 pm or 1 to 3 pm (two sessions). Join this great group of women and see for yourself that you can do this! Hope to see you soon. ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine The "Wild Bunch" 8-Ball Billiards Group is in the middle of the Fall Season of competitive league play and is proving to be the team to beat. As of this writing we are on our way to the Playoffs and we are looking forward to bringing the Championship Trophy back to Four Seasons. The "Wild Bunch" consists of some of the best players in the league: Larry Chase, Pete Antoine, Mike Corbett, Carlos Rivera, LeRoy Wright, Calvin Moore, and Gracy Luna. There are eight teams in the league, with 62 serious players, all vying for the coveted Championship Trophy. If you want to play serious, competitive pool, we invite you to come by the Billiards Room and join in the stimulation of competitive play. We do not play with partners; we play one-on-one with an opponent of your skill level. We are always looking for those who want to play competitively and, who knows, you just may want to change up your game and play on the team! ~ Gracy Luna Curly Cues Wild Bunch Billiards Joy Collins and Lois LeMottee show us their peas New member Linda Amsbry demonstrates her expertise Suzanne Roldan exhibits her skill
