Motorcycle Club
Last month three members, Jim, Bernie and Bob, went on a
three-day trip to Ojai. Their route took them north on Hwy. 138 to
Palmdale, then northwest through Lake Elizabeth and Lake Hughes
to the Old Ridge Route road and on to the Pine Mountain Country
Club for lunch. Next stop the Santa Barbara Pistachio Company on
Hwy 33 and on to Ojai where they stayed two nights at the Chantico
Inn. Perfect place with a great Jacuzzi and courtyard parking allowing
us great access to our bikes. The next day they rode up the coast to
Jalama Beach for their world famous Jalama Burger. After lunch it
was off to the Motorcycle Museum in Solvang and back to Ojai via
the wine country and Lake Cachuma and Lake Casitas. Then it was
through the mountains to Hwy. 126 and home. Each day was a little
over 200 easy miles and temperatures in the low 70s, perfect!
Then on one of our Thursday rides Bob, Steve and Terry rode up
I-15 to Lone Pine Canyon into Wrightwood, then Hwy. 2 to Newcomb's
Ranch. It's a great scenic ride. Newcomb's is a favorite place for car
and motorcycle enthusiast. And a place where you might even run
into a celebrity or two.
The riders meet weekly in the Lodge parking lot at 9 am for a "Day
Ride," and all are welcome, or meet us at out monthly club meeting
on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 pm in room one of the
RCN building. We also do three to five day biker trips and once a year
we do a "family" trip. Info., Steve Sarchett, (951) 769-8004. ~ Steve
