The ARC team wants to thank the homeowners and contractors who have attended our meetings to answer our questions in real time and help us understand the submitted Exhibit A plans so we can quickly approve your plans. In the month of October, the committee reviewed 42 new or property amendment applications approving all 42 applications. The ARC members also completed 34 onsite reviews of completed work (Exhibit C) and granted two extensions for pending approved plans. Q. Why do I have to submit photos with my Exhibit A and Exhibit C? "A picture is worth a thousand words." This old cliché may seem a bit out of date, but pictures help our committee members make decisions about your proposed plans and approve completed plans. Each property has a file with all of the proposed and completed plans that are submitted over time. Exhibit A proposed plans that include pictures make it easy to understand what you or a contractor are proposing. Submitting the pictures with Exhibit C when your plans are completed provides a history of the completed work for the property. For example, if you are proposing adding stone work on the front of your home, including pictures of the front of your home now and pictures of the proposed stone with your Exhibit A helps the committee see how the colors blend with the current paint scheme. Providing pictures of the current state of the property also shows the committee if you have neighbors on all sides or if your back yard has a slope that was planted by the builder. This helps the committee members visualize how the proposed plans will impact neighbors and the community. Once the work is completed, providing Exhibit C with pictures will complete the property file, which is given to the committee member assigned to the completion review. The committee member compares the proposed work with the pictures of the completed work prior to the onsite review, so they can identify any questions they may want to discuss with you. Your property file is available at the Management Office. If you have purchased an existing property, we encourage you to stop by the office and review what is in the property file. This archive includes all Exhibit As & Cs with submitted plans and pictures. The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) members would like to thank everyone who has expressed interest in joining our committee. We should have our current volunteer openings filled by year end. ARC meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month in the RCN Conference Room at 8:30 am. ~ Joanna Olsen 24 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2017 Architectural review Committee
