16 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2017 | Architectural Committee Why Did You Move Here? We all had our reasons, but most of us had the same ones. A gated community for security, a well-maintained beautiful landscape, a place to play our favorite games, a place where everyone waves at you as you pass by, a place to walk with your pet, a community we can be proud of. To keep such a place, we formed an HOA (Home Owners Association) to govern our community. Thus we incorporated some rules by which we all must abide by. So! If you want to make changes to the exterior part of your property the Rule is "Get Approval." It's easy to do. Submit an application to the ARC (Architectural Review Committee). We (ARC) are here to help you do your project within the Rules. If you have any questions, come to our seminars (we have one about every three months) or come to our meeting (we meet the first and third Mondays of each month), or speak to our Service Representative Maria Donti at the Lodge. There are three forms to fill out in order to get approval. Exhibit A "Home Owner Application" is the form that says what you want to do. "Exhibit B" is the form that your neighbors must sign telling them what you are going to do. (Note: this form is not for their approval, only for their information about your project). "Exhibit C" is the notice of completion when you have finished your project and request ARC to inspect it. (Note: the inspection is to insure that you did what your application said you would do). There is one last form, "Exhibit D" if you change your mind and want to add to or make a change to your project. Facilities Committee We all enjoy living in our beautiful community. Maintaining that beauty and thus the value of our homes without an increase in the monthly HOA fees is phenomenal! The volunteer work by our committee, and all the other committees, contributes to the success of our community that we all enjoy. From large projects like the roof repair of the Lodge, the ongoing slurring of our streets, tennis and pickleball court refurbishment and construction of a new storage building, to small necessary things like painting the fire hydrants and clearing the bushes around them. Without constant attention we would all see a decrease in our home value. A portion of our monthly fees is dedicated to a reserve fund. A value and life span is attributed to all community property, and thus when repairs or replacement become necessary there is already funds available to accomplish this. The Facilities Committee, along with the Board of Directors, is responsible for making these things happen. All Facilities Committee recommendations are reviewed by the Finance Committee prior to going to the Board to ensure that funds are available. We would encourage everyone who can, to volunteer to join one of these committees and contribute to the lifestyle we enjoy. Ask at the front desk for an application.
