6 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | DECEMBER 2017 By Theresa Rossetti, Resident Our Solera Diamond Valley Board of Directors election results are in and by now you probably know that Tom Carpenter will remain, Tom Lontz will be joining, and Brian Rubin will be retiring from the Board. We'd like to take this opportunity as a community to thank Brian for his eight years of service to SDV. We on the Communications Committee would also like to thank him personally for his input as our HOA Board representative. Brian worked as a Chemical Engineer prior to retiring. He wanted to use his abilities to support his new community, especially in the last two years as we transitioned to a Board run by homeowners. Over the years, he has spent countless hours working toward the smooth running and improvement of SDV, including attending many City of Hemet meetings. He deserves a big round of thanks for so many dedicated years of service. Many thanks to his wife, Janet, as well, for dealing with absences from home while he dealt with Board business. Now that he can rest on his laurels, Brian is looking forward to volunteer work with the Hemet Valley Art Association, catching up on home projects and having more time for his model railroading hobby. Janet is looking forward to more time and flexibility to travel and enjoy our local activities and a calmer, more present husband. They particularly enjoy cruising and wine tasting. Tom Lontz comes to us after retiring as the CIO of a large manufacturing company, with domestic and global offices and sales. Tom decided to put himself into the running for a seat on the Board to volunteer his expertise while we transition from a Pulte dominated Board to our self-governing one. With his former work on our Finance Committee, Tom is looking forward to ensuring we receive the most value for money that we spend. His wife Ann has been warned about what to expect as far as Tom's time is concerned, and has stocked up on fabric to spend more time on her favorite hobby, quilting. If you have been a recipient of any of her Quilts of Valor, seen them or any of her other quilts, then you know how talented she is. She says she may even use some of that time cooking Tom a meal or two! With Thanks & Appreciation
