un stuff in sun lakes! WRITING INTEREST LIST Award winning novelist, Audrey RL Wyatt would like to bring her highly acclaimed workshop to Sun Lakes. This workshop is called "Lifestories: Memoir Writing. " Lifestories is an 8 week class that will JET PROPULSION LABORATORY Wed., Jan. 30, 9 am - 5 pm, $20 pp. This fascinating day begins with lunch (on own) at the Paseo Colorado Pasadena Mall, this open air mall features tons of eateries that caters to every palate imaginable, then its off to JPL for the afternoon! Trailblazing has been the business of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory since it was established by the California Institute of Technology in the 1930s. They created America's fi rst satellite, Explorer, which sent the fi rst robotics craft to the moon and all across the solar system. On this exciting day trip, you'll have a chance to go behind the scenes to see rocket scientists at work at one of our country's premier space labs! Your 2 1/2 hour guided tour of the Jet Propulsion Lab begins with a media presentation entitled "Welcome to Outer Space," providing an overview of the Lab's activities and accomplishments. From there, you'll embark on a walking tour that takes you to the Von Karman Visitor Center, the Space Flight Operations Facility, and the Spacecraft Assembly Facility. See a full scale model of the "Curiosity Rover" with up to date information, images included! Please have a valid government issued ID with photo, it is required for entrance. Note: Tour involves a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing. Fall Craft Show Fri., Nov. 2, and Sat., Nov. 3, 9 am – 2 pm. Come on out and start your holiday shopping with unique gifts and crafts made by Sun Lake residents! All residents and their guests are welcome to stop by to enjoy our Annual Holiday Craft Show with Free Admission and door prizes will be given away each day. There will approximately 60 vendors with a variety of items to sell. help you transform the meaningful events in your life into compelling written works for family and friends. You will learn elements of storytelling, basic writing tools, and receive helpful feedback to bring these momentous events to life. It's fun and easy – anyone can do it. This eight week workshop will run 90 minutes per week and the cost is $195. If you are interested, please sign the interest list in the Recreation Department. We have 42 card tables that are being replaced. These card tables are 36"x36". The date and time of the exact sale is TBD. The production and delivery of the new tables takes approximately 4 weeks, so we will announce the date of the sale as soon as possible on Channel 97 and fl yers. Please call the Rec Dept. at 845-2191 if you are interested in attending the sale. Tables will be sold for $10 each and a limit of 2 tables/ household HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING Mon., Dec. 3, 5 pm at the Main Clubhouse. Come out and watch as we light up the beautifully decorated trees from each of the districts! After we turn on the lights for the holidays, stop in the ballroom and enjoy hot cider and cookies as we begin our entertainment featuring Sun Lakes Makua Hula Hawaiian Dances, our Barbershop Chorus, and a special surprise!
