Happy New Year to all Bocce players; past, present and all the new players who will join us in 2018! The Bocce season will begin playing with its first game on Thurs., March 15 starting at 9 am. The sign-ups will be two weeks prior in the Ballroom at the Lodge on Thurs., March 1 at 1 pm. We will play the Traditional Bocce as we did in the spring season of this year, 2017. The rules are simple and designed for a "fun" time of playing Bocce at our Four Seasons community. The rules are posted in the Lodge Multipurpose Game Room. Sign-ups will be for the four person team, "spare tires" allowed. The fee will remain the same in 2018 as it was in 2017, $22 per player. The Awards BBQ/banquet will follow the end of the season and will be announced later. The season will be between seven to 12 weeks. This will be determined by the number of teams that sign up. Orville Ellingworth will do his usual super job of scheduling. We invite any interested individuals to attend our committee meetings. The next meeting is Feb. 2, at 10 am in the Lodge Conference Room. Remember any resident of Four Seasons may sign out the Bocce equipment and play at any time. The Lodge attendant will be happy to assist you! If you are new to the game and would like some coaching, please contact me to set up a day and time. For info., contact Sue Malarkey at (951) 223-3056 or csm86301@aol.com. 28 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2018 | A belated Merry Christmas wish comes your way. Happy New Year to everyone! I am learning to anticipate major events in preparing this article. Our regular season will begin in September. We will have sign-ups on Aug. 23 at 1 pm in the Ballroom. I will send emails to all former players to remind them. We will play for 10 weeks on Thursday mornings starting at 9 am. The first day of play will be Sept. 6. Finals will be on Thurs., Nov. 15 and the awards party will follow sometime in January, 2019. Date and time of the party will be announced later. Please mark your calendars for these dates! There is a group who are practicing most Monday and Friday mornings. They start at 9 am now that it has cooled off. Come out and join them, they are great teachers for anyone new to shuffleboard and this is a fun sport, easy to learn and easy on the joints! If the winter stays mild, I would like to have a one day event. Royce Jerman suggested we call it the "Mystery Partner" shuffleboard game. We have six courts and each court can accommodate four players. Four number ones, four number twos, etc. go into the bucket. You will draw a number and then find the three other players with your number. The four players will decide how to form the two, two person teams. Let the matches begin! Please let me know what you think of this idea. I am also available to help new players learn the game, just contact me and we will set a date and time. For info., contact Sue Malarkey at (951) 223-3056. Shuffleboard Bocce Horseshoes Come out and join us for fun at the pits Saturdays at 6 pm. Ernie and Rich are looking for some competition. Hope to see you back to join us at our new location at the pits. Until then, come out and play. Come back and join us. Table Tennis Members and non-members warmly welcomed. We play Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 pm and often at other times as well. So, if you need to include some action in your lifestyle, please join us in the Lodge. Come join the fun! We play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon. We invite anyone that would like to learn how to play Pickleball to come on down the fourth Saturday of the month at 8 am for lessons. We know you will have as much fun as we do. Players of all skill levels welcome! Pickleball
