40 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2018 | 80s Plus Club For our November program, Ray Rendon sang for the group. He is a regular and very well liked and appreciated. I think our club would agree when I call him a crooner. Some of the songs he sang were Cabaret, Blue Moon, It Had To Be You, Dream a Little Dream and You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You. Thank you, Ray, it's always a pleasure! The 80s Plus Club always meets the second Saturday of the month. January's meeting will be in the North Clubhouse for a catered meal. That will be the beginning of all of our meetings now being in the North Clubhouse. It may be smaller, but we will have the consistency of being in the same venue every month. Please get your reservations and checks for $11 pp to Sandee at (909) 301-9044, 1469 Littler, by the end of the prior month. Spouses and caregivers are welcome to attend as well. Many members have brought their visiting children or other out of town visiting guests also, you just need to let us know in advance for a head count for the caterer. For information, call Barb at 845-7904. The Stardust Dancers want to wish all of our supporters a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We have had a great year and hope to have an even better 2018. We hope to see you all at our "Island Paradise" Show on Jan. 18 at 5 pm. It will be your first opportunity to see our male models in action. Joining us on stage, modeling fashions from our own Sun Lakes Pro Shop, will be Al Boteilho, Jack Burnham, Al Knudsen, Bill Lawrence, Dolph Mason, John Oxrider, Ray Rendon, Tom Reynolds and Steve Van Loon. That is a lot of beefcake. The cost is $25 pp for dinner, show, and door prize ticket. Reserved seats. Buy your table or seat anytime from any of our models or by coming to the Lobby Sale on Jan. 9-12 from 10 am to 2 pm. For additional information call Evelyn at 845-7199. Joining the cast will also be the Stardust Models, IDS Hawaiian Dancers, Makua Hula, Alex Fedotowsky, The Ukuladies and a whole lot of fun. Proceeds will provide a Dance Scholarship for a Senior student at Banning High School. Stardust Dancers Well, we just said goodbye to 2017, with some mixed emotions, but are hopefully looking forward to having a really good 2018. We will give you a week to recuperate from the holidays before we start our busy January schedule. We will have just one dance this month. It will be on the unusual evening of Wed., Jan. 17. We've never had a dance on a Wednesday but we're going to have one this year. The Country Western Dances are in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom starting at 7 pm and lasting to about 9 pm. All evening long we do both line dances and couples' dances. The Monday evening line dance classes continue to be very popular. We are now teaching intermediate difficulty line dances. The first instruction for 2018, will be Mon., Jan. 8. Lessons will also be on Mon., Jan. 15, 22, and 29. Lessons are at the South Clubhouse from 7 to 8:30 pm. Couples dance instruction will be on Tues., Jan. 8, and 23, at the South Clubhouse from 7 to 8 pm. Questions? Call Joe or Jean at 769-9148. Country Western Dance
