| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2018 | 7 Have you made any New Year's resolutions yet? Don't bother! You will only break them in the next few days anyway. Then you will get all worked up because you had good intentions, but they didn't last very long. We are not being "bah humbug." Why go through the exasperation when you know you aren't serious in the first place. Let's face it, the older you get, who needs to worry about doing something you do not want to do. The great thoughts and ideas aren't so great when you take another look at them 10 days later. We know the above is true, but I do have a few ideas that will help you feel better about 2018. What if we all try to be friendlier, more neighborly this year. Using our amenities or walking in the clubhouses with a smile on your face gets you a "hi" or a "hello" or "have a great day" from everyone you pass by. You will find that the people at Sun Lakes are the friendliest in the world. It appears they look for a chance to say a kind word or wave at you as they drive down the street. Do yourself and me a big favor, when you see your District Delegate or Alternate Delegate say "thank you" for all of their hard work the whole year, planning the district events and reporting the news and information in your newsletter each month. Say "hi" to the people working at Sun Lakes. They keep our complex in great shape for us to use and maintain all of our buildings and assets for those who will follow us living here. We know we just enjoyed the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, but those holidays are really for family and close friends. Since we live in a senior gated community, we should treat our neighbors like extended family. The more you participate in our community activities, the more people you meet and get to know better and they really become friends. Finally, we should extend a big "thank you" to our Board of Directors. They have had a long, difficult year with the budget and the problems with the Board of Equalization and the ABC Board. Operating the HOA at Sun Lakes Country Club is the same as running a town anywhere is the USA. Actually, it is more intensive since we own everything within our walls, the responsibilities are much greater. We live in the greatest place on earth — it's the friendliest, with the nicest neighbors — who could ask for anything more! DELEGATE ASSEMBLY REPORT Joe Formino, Chairman, District Delegate Assembly The world is filled with If you can't find one nice people… be one.
