This is our special tribute to Valentine's Day, and the perfect occasion to show your valentine how much they mean to you with a fabulous evening out. Doors open at 5:30 pm and dinner will be served at 6 pm. We will again be enjoying our "dressy" or "formal" attire, your choice, so come join us for a great evening of food, dance, and fun. We have the following great meal selections for your enjoyment. Tri Tip $23.75; Petrale Sole $23.50; or our vegetarian selection, Portobello Napoleon $22.75. All entreés will be served with oven roasted potatoes and glazed baby carrots. The meal will begin with rolls and butter and a dinner salad with chopped tomatoes and cucumbers. Dessert will be delicious chocolate cake. These are great choices and our kitchen staff does an outstanding job with our entreés. Sign ups this month are from Feb. 1 to Feb. 9 and can be dropped in the box on the gate at 782 Torrey Pines Rd. along with your sign-up sheet. Please also include your meal and table preference on the form you can access on the Sun Lakes website. Also, if you sign up and find you are unable to attend, please call Carla at 797-3506 before 3 pm on the day of the dance and she will arrange for you to pick up your meal to enjoy at home. Bring your special someone to our wonderful dinner/dance… they will love it! It's February, and while this winter hasn't been the worst, we still can't wait for the end of winter. The Country Western Dance Club activities this month will hopefully help us get through the last of this winter, so here they are. There is one dance this month on Thurs., Feb. 1. This dance is in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom from 7 to 9 pm. Line dance instructions will be held on Mon., Feb. 5, 12, 19, and 26, from 7 to 8:30 pm at the South Clubhouse. We currently are learning intermediate level dances, which are a little more challenging. Couples dance instruction will be at the South Clubhouse on Tuesdays, Feb. 13, and 27, from 7 to 8 pm. For information about club functions, call Joe or Jean at 769-9148. Country Western Dance Celebrate Valentine's Day! Join us Thurs., Feb. 15, at 5:30 pm to celebrate Valentine's Day with our club. Main Street Swing Band with vocals by Nannette will be playing. In addition to Foxtrots, Waltzes and Swing music, the band plays Modern Big Band Music from the 60s and 90s. This includes line dance and country-western. If you have a request for a favorite piece or are having an anniversary or birthday to celebrate, call band member, Mike, at 909-560-3539 two weeks before Feb. 15. As usual you may purchase beverages and/ or snacks. Annual membership dues of $25 are due at this time. Entry fees are still $10 for members and $15 for non-members. You may direct any questions to Mike or Carol at 845-5962. Happy Valentine Day! Big Band Dance January was very active for us. We participated in two dances for Activities Day: the popular Indian dance Chaiyya Chaiyya and the Veil Dance. Some of our ladies also performed for the 80s Club. Our dancers were invited to participate in Evelyn Hawkins Fashion Show, "Island Paradise," and many of our ladies joined the modeling group. Thank you, Evelyn. A special thanks to all of our supporters these past years and we look forward to many exciting shows in the future. We are available for private parties as well as stage shows in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom.
