FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2018 39 Let's Dance Our Christmas Dinner Dance was a great evening once again with over 150 guests! Along with good food, music and dancing, we were treated to a lovely Formation Dance by some of our advanced club members. Special thanks to our professional dance instructor, Cindy, for providing guidance, choreography and participation in this graceful and beautifully executed dance. The dance for February will be the East Coast Swing. This is one of the most fun and easy dances anyone can learn! It has simple footwork that repeats itself while you learn different ways to turn and dance with your partner to almost any fast music. Easily one of the most diverse dances to learn because you can dance it to so many kinds of music - jazz, country, 50s – up to current day music. Plan to join us on Mondays in the Ballroom or the RCN building at 6:30 – 7 pm for beginners, 7 - 7:30 pm for intermediate, and 7:30 – 8 pm for advanced. For information contact Puring or Gary Stifter at (951) 922-8333, or at purings@verizon.net. ~ Sue Condurachi The January very beginners class has eight new students and all were able to do the Electric Slide and the Cupid Shuffle by the end of 30 minutes. The next very beginners class will start March 6. This is only a 30-minute class, so it is important for everyone to be there and ready to dance by 2:30 pm. The intermediate class is moving right along and picking up new dances faster. Some are ready step-wise to stay for the advanced class, but are hesitant to do so. My advice; go for it and stretch your skills. It is quite challenging at times, but keep trying. Very few of us learn a new dance in a single lesson. If the Ballroom work is completed, we will have a free sock hop April 13, so mark your calendar. As usual it will be open to anyone for dancing and watching. Buy your food from Smitty's and BYOB for a fun evening. We will supply cups, ice and water. As we age, exercise, especially dancing, challenges our brain and helps keep us young and moving. Line dancing is geared for people to dance alone with a bunch of other dancers. It always amazes me when I look around and most people are doing the same steps at the same time. It just takes practice and concentration. In each class someone, including me, lets their mind wander and misses a step or two. We all laugh together, because it happens to us all at one time or another. Join us in on Tuesday afternoons at 3 pm. Class times are listed in calendar section. Check the front desk to find out where we are dancing. Info., Martha Franck, (951) 769-3889. ~ Martha Franck Line Dancing Everyone enjoyed our Christmas Dinner Dance
