Motorcycle Club
The last "Day Ride" of 2017 was enjoyed by
four of our members; Terry Humble (Harley,
Ultra Guild), Bob Howard (Triumph, Tiger), Ron
Morgan (Can Am) and Scott Synder (Victory,
Vision). They met at the Lodge at 9 am and, with
Terry in the lead, headed for Dillion Road and on
to Mecca for the first stop and refreshments at
Starbucks.
After a short break, Terry led them down Hwy
86 with the Salton Sea on their left.
After a beautiful two-hour ride, they reached
Borrego Springs and their favorite Taco shop, Los
Jilbertos Mexican Restaurant, for lunch.
After lunch and a good rest, they headed home
via Hwy 79 and Sage Road. Great ride. Thanks

Our December hikes cap a year of spectacular views of mountains,
lakes, trees, and beaches with a nocturnal stroll of our own backyard.
We rendezvous at the Summit bearing gifts of food and drink and
then hit the night air along our neighborhoods. In 2016 we sloughed
through rainy weather but this last year the skies were clear and stars
were twinkling. Our 20 silent carolers enjoyed the holiday displays
of newer members of our community. They are usually "younger"
members with the energy to climb ladders and stake lawn ornaments
against the Beaumont winds that really 'felt its oats' this December.
After an hour walk building appetites and thirsts we were back at
the Summit to attack the potluck treasures we had delivered. A short
meeting was conducted to plan for 2018 hikes, but we mostly just
enjoyed the company of our fellow adventurists. Happy New Year
to all.
