32 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2018 Counter Culture Cinema Come join us for two really interesting small films that didn't play at any of the cinemas near here. Our first monthly screening, Sunday, Feb. 11 at 6 pm, is the film Janis: Little Girl Blue (USA 2015, 1 hr. 43 min., English). Here is a brief description from IMDb.com: "Musician Cat Power narrates this documentary on Janis Joplin's evolution into a star from letters that Joplin wrote over the years to her friends, family, and collaborators." Our second screening, on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 6 pm, is the film Score: A Film Music Documentary (USA 2016, 1 hr. 33 min., English). Here is a brief description from IMDb.com: "For a predominately visual medium like cinema, its musical component plays a vital role as well, especially its score. In that essential musical accompaniment, the soul of the film is expressed whether it be sweepingly majestic fanfares or delicate lyrical pieces. This documentary explores the artistic role of this special musical discipline that completes the cinematic artistic creation process and the artists who have devoted their careers to this contribution." All of our screenings are followed by lively discussion about the film; we'd love to have you join us. The Lodge Theatre has very limited seating, so if you're interested in our screenings, come early; we hope to see you there. Please note that all films announced are subject to availability. If you have any questions about the Counter Culture Cinema Club or want to recommend a film, please email Micki Rosen at michelesrosen@gmail.com. ~ Micki Rosen The Computer Technology Group meetings are a forum to discuss topics about technological tools and applications which have become part of our world. The meetings are open to everyone and we welcome questions and suggestions for future meeting topics. Upcoming topics will include: • How to create a Full-Disk backup of your PC with Macrium Reflect • Removing Trialware and Unneeded software from your Windows computer • Some simple techniques for making a Windows computer easier to use The meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am. We try to announce the current month's topic via email in advance of the meeting. Come out and learn about some fascinating things. ~ Howard Lyon Computer Technology We are hoping that the Ballroom renovations are done and we can move ahead with our 2018 schedule. Thank you all for your patience! Taste d'Vine Wine Club of Four Seasons is excited to ring in our first meeting of 2018! We would like to start the year with a look back at some of Total Wine's most popular wines of 2017. They will go through their archives to find two of the top selling white wines and two of the top selling red wines. Some of the wines may be familiar to you but we are hoping to introduce a new "favorite" into your wine collection. Taste d'Vine Wine Club is pleased to bring you the Best of 2017 Wines at February's meeting in the Ballroom Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6 pm. (Doors open at 5:15 pm.) Please bring a favorite wine to share with your table along with an appetizer – such as crackers, cheese, desserts or anything in between. Members are $5 and guests are $10. For info, please contact Terry Hall at (714) 369-0828. ~ Terry Hall Taste d'Vine
