16 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MARCH 2018 | Social Committee We hope you enjoyed the fun and beautiful Mardi Gras event on Feb. 17. If you missed it, don't forget to sign up for the upcoming events scheduled for the coming months. There will be our wonderful musical programs on the Plaza. The first one will be "My Generation - A Tribute to the British Invasion" on Tues., March 20. The April 24 event will be the The Killer Dueling Pianos indoors in the Ballroom. The balance will be outdoors on the Plaza, once a month until fall. All of this great entertainment for $5 per person. We are here to ensure that your experience living in the Four Seasons community is a memorable one. We look forward to your continuous support of our community events. Remember, be the first one to say "hello." Tip of the Month: If you live alone it is imperative that you, in addition to having an emergency contact system, have someone you can check-in with daily who will be alerted if you fail to contact them because you are incapacitated. There are instances where people could have been saved if they had not been left in bed, or on the floor, for days! This could be a neighbor, friend, or family member. And, everyone should have emergency information and contact information like Vial of Life, or File of Life, kept current and readily available. An Internet search for either of these will lead you to an online, downloadable form. Your Street Captain can give you a Household Information packet that has this form in it. If you are a new resident here, you may wonder what are the Emergency Preparedness Committee and Street Captains, and why do many of us take the time to take special training like Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), CPR, or Red Cross First Aid courses? Because we believe that should a situation occur that overwhelms, or incapacitates, normal emergency services (Fire, Medical, or Police), it is better to have some plan in place that can mitigate the impact on our community. So we meet, train, and plan on a regular basis to prepare for such an event. We also try to identify special needs of our neighbors and keep them informed about how to prepare for an emergency or disaster. Please consider becoming a Street Captain for your block or area! For more information, please check the Four Seasons' calendar for meeting days and times (generally the last Monday of the month at 10:30 am in the Lodge, so come on by!). We still want to encourage anyone with a marketing or recruiting background to join us in establishing a program to achieve an even greater level of participation in community emergency preparedness. We have about 45 Street Captains to cover our 1,106 residences. In order to adequately cover our community, we should have 100 — more if possible, to cover for those who are not in the area when an event occurs. Emergency Preparedness Committee
