46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2018 We meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the RCN Main Lobby Room; thus, our April meeting will be April 17. Last month, I wrote that the Four Seasons Birding Club invited us to join them for a field trip to the San Jacinto Wildlife Area. We took them up on their offer and, in the words of our chairperson, Irve Sturner, "the 'Birders' did a wonderful job educating the camera club members on a variety of birds we encountered on our joint outing to the wetlands. John Hansen, Larry Colby, Roxy, and I enjoyed the photo shoot day with the Birders. Kudos to both clubs enjoying a very nice morning with nature and sharing expertise with each other." Camera Club member Steve Edelman, who is also the Chairperson of the Birding Club, said, "we identified 33 bird species, including 10 species of duck and several species of shorebirds, raptors (hawks), and egrets. Highlights included several White-faced Ibis, a tree full of Tree Swallows, and a rare White-tailed Kite. The Camera Club got some good photos of our sightings and had some great opportunities for wildlife photography." See the Birding Club article in this issue. In our February meeting, we showed photographs from the above- mentioned joint field trip and also, since "birds" was the monthly genre, club members also showed some of their non-field trip bird photos. Our March meeting had not yet been held at the time of this writing, but the assignment was Portraiture photography. I'll report on this topic next month. Visitors are always welcome. We invite all photographers, regardless of skill level, to join us for our regular meetings, workshops, in-house hardware and software demonstrations, guest speakers, field trips, and more. We hope to see you soon. ~ Lyle Cameron Camera Club The Singers have started our preparations for the May Performing Arts Club Show, "I'm Glad I'm Not Young Anymore."
